Morning of day six. We got up an hour early to try to get back with enough time to see the village of Killarney and not have to drive all night.

Karin was so desperate for bug cover she went so far as to don one of Chris's used portage shirts.

We paused for lunch and a last swim on the beautifully dead Killarney Lake. We were beating our schedule by about an hour. We were working really well together for the entire trip but we had hit our stride here.

Wave to the passing canoes people. So just how clear is this water anyway?

Freeland Lake, I think.

Lunch, day six. Still with fresh vegetables. Orange pepper left over from last night's spectacular cheese fondue. The fondue featured a rock-strutted double boiler to keep the cheese from carbon-dating on the bottom of the pot. MSR take note, we're giving you a freebie here.

Last lunch on the water. Sniff. Cuisine du fond du baril. MMmmmm. Anyone for gorp? Seriously. Please. Eat more.

Check out the fresh veggies. Martha Stewart, we got one for you.
